The speed, breadth and depth of the changes being brought by the 4th industrial revolution (4IR) are forcing us to rethink what we mean by creating value, both social and economic; how organisations create and capture that value and what managers and leaders need to excel at to achieve superior performance. 

4IR is the era of artificial intelligence, digital automation, genome editing, biometrics, robotics, autonomous vehicles and the Internet of Things. It is the era of rapid value capture by some; matched by equally rapid value destruction experienced by others. It’s the context where V.U.C.A.* is normal.

Thriving in 4IR requires adopting new approaches to management and leadership. Competing for the future, today. Recognising that by our actions we are creating the future. That the future we imagine is unlikely to be that which arrives so we must be ready to learn, adapt, pivot, reinvent and reimagine; whilst building the trust and support of employees, investors and society.
